Born at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital. Dad was attending seminary.
Don't even remember where we lived. Dad and Mom applied for a missionary job.
Followed the hippies to South America. Parents attended language school.
Moved into a two story house in this little town in Southern Spain. Parents started a small church.
Started 1st grade at Commonwealth Elementary School, ended up in 2nd. We were on our first furlough.
Four lovely years were spent on the 5th floor. Parents worked with several churches in the area.
Became a Brea Mall rat, and finished Dragon Warrior I. I was the only sixth grader who could spell "furlough".
The seventh floor overlooked three soccer fields, but I played volleyball. Dad worked at a newly founded seminary. Mom taught biology.
Here begins my love affair with Brea. Dad wrote counselling letters. Mom taught kindergarden.
Pasadena, rock on. Slogged through four years of hard-core XXX applied physics. Worked at Knott's Berry Farm, Homebase, Jet Propulsion Labs, the Sherman Fairchild library and spent a summer at Princeton in Beijing.
Tianjin can be boring, but China is beauty. Kids are fun; mom's kindergarden gene turns on. Worked at CRIS Elementary School, grade 1 and 5.
Back in Brea, substituting, tutoring and bookselling at Borders.
Who would have though I would move to the Midwest to study Chinese?
