Perhaps it's because he is such a public figure, but Nicholas Kristof seems to be doing cool stuff all the time.  As perhaps the least controversial<ins cite="http://www.nytimes.com/2003/03/04/national/04APPO.html?&pagewanted=print" datetime="2003-03-05T10:02:00-08:00">--and most recently appointed--</ins>of the NY Times' editorial staff, he is talking to interesting people and coming up with, if not deep, at least non-isolationist and well-informed ideas.  Also, I saw him participate in a show on PBS a few weeks ago called <a href="http://www.asianamerica.com" title="The show's website">Asian America</a>, where he talked about South Korea's new president.
